Treatment Plant at HabitatWe took a red-eye flight to Bonaire and spent a week with our friends Lois and Eldon. In between snorkeling trips, touring the island and checking out several restaurants, we relaxed. I did work with Eldon and the staff on troubleshooting problems with the onsite wastewater treatment system. Eldon, Yanjin and I are still working on optimizing the treatment plant at Captain Don’s Habitat. The plan to build a central wastewater treatment plant on the island has been postponed due to budget problems. So our plant is still the only treatment plant on the island removing nitrogen and helping to protect their reef. After a quick week, we flew back to Texas and resumed our westward tour.
